SHOUTcast V2.6 is now available on all systems. With the new version of SHOUTcast some bugs have been fixed.

At the same time the Authhash system was modernized and the registration of these keys is now possible again.

SHOUTcast 2.6 update on all systems — **In the freemium tariff SHOUTcast limits your bitrate to a maximum of 128 Kbit/s. Furthermore, only the MP3 format is supported.**

If you stream with your station with more than 128 Kbit/s. We recommend not to register the new authhash. The SHOUTcast.com directory should not be worth such restrictions.

However, if the MP3 format is sufficient for you and you do not send more than 128 Kbit/s anyway, nothing stands in the way of registering the SHOUTcast Authhash.

In general, we recommend that you switch to an Icecast stream server. STREAMPANEL systems also establish a connection with Icecast via the SHOUTcast V1 protocol. Thus, the Icecast systems are also compatible with all common broadcasters that support at least SHOUTcast V1.
